9.7.05 - Quick recap of the last several days

From Istanbul headed to Brighton to spend several days with my friend Karen Swift who I met in the ashram in India. Brighton is a great seaside town in the south of England and the weather just happened to be fantastic. While I was there and preparing to head to London to meet up with other friends from India (Josie, Tim and of course Michael) I happen to discover that Tim is actually in Brighton!!! So spent a couple days with him as well. We just seem to "run in to" on another - and England makes the 6th country on this trip that I would have seen him. Quickly discovered and was reminded of just how expensive England can be after paying $40 for 2 of us to watch a movie..."The Last Mitterand." (yes, we were the youngest in the theatre)

From Brigton headed to London for the weekend where I stayed with Rob and Mercedes in their new apartment and was amazed just how amazing she looked with just 3 weeks to go before the delivery of their first baby!! And so relaxed. Much time was spent reminiscing but I also felt pulled in so many directions with so many people see including the crew from India as well as the newly transplanted Jeff and Marta (Jeff was a former manager of mine at Activision). He's been moved to London to work at ATVI and they have a lovely set up in the heart of Notting Hill. We had a lovely visit and walked around the city. Thanks to me Marta has discovered the tasty candy treat known as Maynard's Wine Gums. I was able to restrain myself...but only after finishing off 2 packages. Ooops!!!

It was good bye to Tim and Michael who were heading back home...while I headed to the airport on my way to Riga. I arrived and checked in to the hostel which resulted in 2 sleepless nights - I am just not a hostel girl. Too worried about what's going on around me. Apart from that Riga was a nice change - so green, so cool and I just loved walking the cobblestoned, medieval streets. So northern European...but I would prefer not being by myself in the future. I did head out with my 2 Italian room mates last night - 2 younger guys who gave me a good life and were quite respectful when they returned later than me and tried to be there best to turn in as quietly as possible God bless them.

But nothing could prepare me for Tallinn. I've given up on the hostel, rented an apartment (may have company though) and living the high life in a truly magical (and rather spendy) city. This internet is costing me an astronomical $2/hr. So more later.... ;)
