03.13.07 - Turning Japanese
Since the last post I've settled in San Francisco and I've started a new job. I'm loving it!!! I like the job (though always a grind -lol) and have loved being around so many wonderful friends from my Tbird days. And there's so much to do around SF. I've bought a road bike and have been venturing out on the weekends....scaling Mt. Tam (no easy feat), cruising along the Silverado trail in Napa.... So many beautiful places to explore with a little pedal power.
Things have been relatively settled although I can't say that I enjoy much down time. I travelled to MN for Christmas and it was great to see family. But I've been itching for a little more....so tomorrow I'm heading to Japan for 12 days or so. I've only recently been interested in visiting Japan - I suppose after watching Lost In Translation a million times it kind of grows on you. ;) I'm mainly going to visit my friend Karen (whom I'd met in the ashram in southern India in 2005) and her husband Tim. They've been living in Tokyo for awhile and I look forward to seeing the city and the area through their eyes/ experiences. I believe it's the start of the cherry blossom festival although it's a little on the chilly side (compared to SF lately). And I can't wait for the sushi and great Japanese cuisine!!! Yummy!!
More to come....
